Positive Behavioral Intervention Support (PBIS)

To better serve our student body by providing a safe, respectful environment, our school has adapted the PBIS program to our school's needs.  This adaptation has been named the "S.C.S. Challenge".  S.C.S. stands not only for St. Casimir's School, but it also identifies each area of respect we are challenged to uphold--Self, Community and School.  To help our parents understand how PBIS will be used, a S.C.S. Matrix has been created identifying each physical area of the school and how PBIS strategies will be implemented.  

Once the matrix has been introduced to our students and they understand the behaviorial expectations that have been set, follow up procedures are implemented in the event that a student chooses not to follow the matrix.  The Office  Discipline Referral Form will be utilized to indicate the various discipline actions the teachers may need to take with a student.  To more fully understand the expectations, terms and consequences of the program, definitions can be found on the PBIS Referral Definitions.

If, after reading through these documents, you have any questions or concerns regarding this program, please do not hesitate to contact your child's classroom teacher.  This program offers our faculty the opportunity to see areas of improvement in our overall discipline program by providing clear and consistent expectations.  We are very excited to see the positive impact on our student body--emotionally, socially and academically!
